PUPPY CARE

Injections & Microchipping

Your puppy will be Vet checked, microchipped and receive their first vaccination at Weeley Veterinary Centre, 26 Colchester Road, Weeley, CO16 9JT.

The Microchip will be registered on the Microchip Central Database (UK DEFRA compliant) and you will be provided with the information to be able to change the registered keeper.

The vaccinations given are Nobivac DHPPi and Nobivac Lepto 2 at 8 weeks of age and are repeated 2-4 weeks later. A week after this you can start taking your puppy out and about with you.

Worming & Flea Treatment

Your puppy has been wormed at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks old with Panacur Oral suspension. They will need worming again at 12 weeks of age.

Your puppy has been given Flea treatment using Advocate. This needs to be done monthly.

Feeding your Puppy

The puppy will need feeding 3 times a day. We will supply you with a 2kg bag of Burn’s Puppy original chicken and rice, also available online and most retail stores. This also comes with a feeding chart and measuring cup. Food needs to be prepared according to these guidelines.

Don’t worry if your puppy doesn’t eat much at first, they will need time to settle into their new home.

Always make sur there is always plenty of accessible fresh water.

If your puppy’s stools are too loose, reduce the amount of food or additional food treats that you are giving as you may be overfeeding.

If you wish to change the puppy’s food, make sure you do this slowly over 4 days by gradually putting a quarter of the new food and reducing a quarter of the old food each day.
